In the past, I have just been highlighting new branding and web design launch on my portfolio page. But I want a space that’s a little bit more casual, where I can really go in depth and talk about the process. I also want to highlight some of my favorite things about the branding design and really celebrate my clients. Through the branding process, I feel like I not only gain a new client but also a new friend. And I want to celebrate those friends! So I hope that you will help me celebrate Luke Lambertson Photo + Video!
Luke Lambertson Photo + Video is a wedding and couples photographer and videographer in Georgia. I’ve actually had the pleasure of being photographed by Luke before. It was so much fun. He has so much heart and he has the.best.laugh. So when Luke reached out to me to do his branding design I was so stoked.
One of my favorite photos taken by Luke
One of Luke’s main goals with his rebrand was to reach his ideal client who appreciates travel, adventure, and going to rad places outdoors. His ideal client appreciates the sweet small moments and values authentic connections and experiences.
It was important for his branding to be slightly rugged and allude to travel, adventure, and the outdoors. We use a rugged and approachable script font for the wordmark and paired it with a serif font that adds a nice element of refinement to appeal to wedding clients. I made a seamless pattern for Luke to use on his website or on different assets that reference a topographic map. Hidden inside the pattern are sweet words and phrases that a couple may say to each other during their adventure shoot with Luke. To add a natural and rugged vibe, I chose colors that reference natural materials like wood, stone, leather, and dirt.
We also worked together to put together a wedding magazine, or welcome guide, or client guide, whatever you want to call it. I have heard it called so many different things! This welcome guide was so much fun to put together. I loved translating Luke’s new branding into an experience that he could give his couples after they had booked him. I can’t recommend investing in a custom welcome guide enough. They answer all of your most frequently asked questions, gives tips on what to wear to their shoots, and reinforces that they made a great choice in booking you.
I’m considering writing another blog post all about welcome guides and why they are so important for your business. If you have a service based business I can’t stress how much welcome guide will help you book and save you time.
