I worked with Well Set on a brand refresh for their VIP Day before we kick-start their website overhaul. These VIP days are a great way to work closely in a one-day sprint to get your brand launched. They are a perfect fit for businesses that already have a brand strategy in place or that just need a little facelift. I reserve my whole day just for you, and by the end of the day, you will have the important elements of a brand identity needed for your business.
Before I started on the VIP Day, I met with the founder of Well Set to talk about the needs of the branding, what they currently weren’t happy with, and their goals for the refresh. They currently have their logo displayed on large signage so we knew that we wanted to keep the original logo but refresh it just a bit. But – all other aspects of the brand were fair game to change!
I started the day by doing some research, putting together my key guiding words for the refresh, and a quick mood board.
Next, I refined the logo just a bit so that it didn’t stray too far from the signage that would be used on their building but so that it felt more modern and fit with the rest of the brand.
It was important for the branding to appeal to both men and women especially since the business now focuses on both sports injuries but also with pregnancy pain, baby positioning, and pain from nursing.
A main goal for the new brand identity was for it to feel more “grown-up”. We wanted to maintain the fun, approachable, and friendly energy the brand had but give it a more refined aesthetic.
I also made some editable social media graphics so that they could start managing their social media in-house.
“[the social media graphics] will be very useful to have in-house instead of paying an outside person. This will save money in the long run and help us show our true identity with more meaningful posts.”

We didn’t stop after the brand identity. It’s important that you actually know how to properly use your brand elements to maintain its integrity to keep everything consistent and cohesive. Consistency makes your brand memorable and builds brand recognition. You want everything to be cohesive so that everything you put out looks on-brand and as if it came from the same place and making sure that it’s always communicating the same message.
The best way to do this is through brand guidelines. Brand guidelines can also be known as a brand manual, brand book, brand bible, identity manual, etc. Although these guidelines are known by many different names they all do the same thing: share a set of rules or guidelines so that you or anyone on your team can keep your brand consistent and looking good.
For Well Set we created a set of guidelines that included:
Overall, a VIP day is a great way to start moving the needling in your business without a long wait time or dragged-out project timelines.
“Quill & Co. makes the entire process fun and easy, and the results are exactly what we were hoping for. I am so grateful to have been referred to Quill & Co. by one of our friends!
– Jace, Founder of Well Set
