What’s the Difference Between VIP Days and Custom Design Projects?
Here at Quill and Co. we provide design services in two main categories: VIP Days and Custom Design Projects. These services are appropriate for different projects and clients. We understand that each project is unique which means each of these project types can look very different depending on the project. So allow me to highlight the basics of how these services work.
Not sure which one is the best fit for you and your project? Keep reading to learn more about the difference between a custom design project and design VIP days
VIP Days
Have an extremely short timeline
Get everything done in ONE day
8 hours of uninterupted and focused time to get your project done
Some prep is necessary beforehand to have appropriate assets ready
A few opportunities to provide feedback and very limited time for refinements
There are no scheduled 1:1 meetings throughout the day to optimize our time. Updates and feedbacks will be sent through Looms and email. If for some reason you would prefer to meet on zoom during the day or you need to talk through the feedback face to face, we can schedule a call during the VIP Day.
Refinements require a quick turnaround time and you don’t have as much time to mull over design decisions and feedback.
Get the basics you need
A quick and dirty way to get you the basics needed for your project.
We can complete a mini brand in a day (think: logo, colors and fonts)
We can complete a small semi custom website built from a template
Or we can complete a handful branded marketing collateral
Think of us as more of your hired in house designer for the day. Instead of being a consultant doing big picture strategies for your branding we’re completing smaller projects for your business.
Custom Design Projects
Have a longer timeline
Depending on the scope of your project, custom design projects often takes several months to complete
Contracted timeline curated to fit your project
Some prep is necessary beforehand to have appropriate assets ready
Have more opportunities for feedback and refinements
Over the course of several months there are multiple scheduled checkin dates to make sure we are on the right path.
You provide feedback to make sure we are on the right path and to make any necessary refinements.
Refinements can be much more detailed and thought out.
Have more robust deliverables
Full branding projects often take about 2 months to complete and include brand strategy, the brand identity and logo suite, brand guidelines, and branded marketing collateral
Web Design projects (depending on how robust the website is) often take 2 months or more. These projects include website strategy and site map, a mockup of the homepage, design and development of the website, basic on page SEO, and lots and lots of testing and refinements
Get more 1:1 high touch support
When you hire us for a custom design project you can think of us as your branding coach. We’re available to answer any questions you may have about your brand. We’re happy to consult you on any branding decisions that may come up.
